Q: Do I need to pay dues to be a vg?

A: No. While we do not ask our members to pay dues, being a VG often comes with certain expenses- meals with your class or the whole group, attire for concerts and gigs, and general tomfoolery. Some VGs pay these out of pocket, but if that is not viable, the group will cover any necessary expense. We travel both locally and internationally, and we work hard so that financial barriers are not a concern for our members.

Q: What is pavilion iv?

A: Pavilion IV, or PAV IV, is one of the eight larger residences located on The Lawn. Facing the Rotunda, PAV IV is the second two-story building on the right.

Q: Do I need to know how to tie a bowtie?

A: No. Lucas still doesn't know how, and he’s social chair..

Q:  Do I need prior singing experience?

A: Definitely not. Some current VGs had only sung in the shower before showing up to Pavilion IV for their audition.

Q: Who can audition?

A: Anyone! We are seriously excited to meet each and every auditionee that comes out. We don't grant or restrict membership on the basis of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, politics, or disability.

Q: Can I audition multiple times?

A: Of course.  Many VGs auditioned several times before getting in. "Look at me now," says Heath.

Q: Can I audition for multiple groups at UVA?

A: Yes, but if you are accepted into multiple groups, you will have to select a single group.

Q: Where can I listen to VG music before auditioning?

A: You can find the groups' latest albums or live recordings of concerts on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Q: Are there any other questions I should be asking?

A: Good question. While you think about that, check out our galleries.
